Montpelier Elks Country Club Under New Management
We Welcome New Players and New Members!

Pro Shop Manager Lynn Ribolini

Located across from Agway on Route 2 east of the City, the Montpelier Elks Country Club, established in 1902, is one of the oldest golf courses in Vermont.  The course has varied and challenging terrain, with a mix of shorter and longer holes.

New players or experienced golfers will find  a casual, welcoming atmosphere at the Elks Club. Lunch is served Tuesday through Friday from 11:00-2:00 and Friday night dinners are a popular meal for many, served from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.  All golfers are welcomed in the Elks Club lounge and restaurant.

The pro shop is under new management this year, with Lynn Ribolini at the helm. Lynn is a familiar figure in Central Vermont, having served as Athletic and Facilities Director for the Montpelier School District for several years and coaching youth sports including basketball, baseball and softball for 20 years. For the 2015 school year he will serve as Athletic Director at Twinfield High School.

"The course is in great shape and we're seeing a lot of play", says Lynn. "We have a variety of events scheduled for the month of June, including the George McLaughlin tournament on June 20 and 21, and company tournaments with meals included for Vermont Mutual and the Central Vermont Civic Center. A group of Blue Cross Blue Shield employees play regularly on Monday evenings. On June 25 at 5:30 we welcome and encourage new golfers and non-members to join us in our monthly 'Fun Night'. The charge is only $10 and includes 9 holes of golf and dinner. The theme for this month's fun night is "Beach Party". Players are encouraged to dress accordingly and be prepared for a great time. We play a scramble format, with 5-person teams, which takes the pressure off for new players, making this a great opportunity to try the game."

In an effort to entice players, seasonal memberships  for new members, seniors and youth are lowered this year ($395; $445; and $125-225, depending on age; respectively).  If you've played golf in the past and would like to sharpen your skills, or are new to the game and would like to meet other players, the Montpelier Elks Country Club is a conveniently located and friendly course.  There are leagues for men (Tuesday evenings) and women (Wednesday evenings) and all are welcome to join.

To schedule a tee time or if you are planning a company event or fundraising tournament, call Lynn Ribolini in the pro shop at 223-7457. A full calendar of events, rates and more information are posted here. On-line coupons are available on the website with reduced rates for weekdays, either 18 holes with a cart anytime, or 9 holes with a cart before 2:00 p.m.. A new special is available for $58 plus tax for  two players for nine holes with a cart and lunch included, available Tuesday through Friday.
